James Douglas Buckton

Lt Col James Douglas Buckton 1861 – 1933 was a Solicitor and and JP.

He was born in Mold, Flintshire and lived at Fairfield Hall, Warrington with his parents James Rhoades Buckton and Mary Melling.

On the 1911 census he is living at Bruche Hall. Padgate, Warrington with his wife Elizabeth (Appleton) four visitors and three servants. Bruche Hall is shown as having 18 rooms.

James later  purchased Nibley House in North Nibley, Wooten Under Edge, Gloucestershire. It was an 18th Century house with extensive grounds.

He died in 1933 without having offspring and the house was left to the Church of Wales. Nibley House is now a Bed and Breakfast, camp site and nursery.
